Lesson XV
There are a few words which have no true place in a sentence, but are just thrown in here and there, not to make sense, but to show feeling.
They are called interjections, which word means thrown in.
Oh, ah, alas, O, etc., are interjections.
To be learnt.
Interjections are words thrown into a sentence to show feeling.
Exercise XV
1. Give interjections to begin the following sentences:
_____ how you frighten me!
_____ my bird is dead.
_____ how wise you must be!
2. Look for interjections in a poetry book.
