“Seek and ye shall find”
Sermon on the Mount. St Matthew.
(The Gospel History, Section 43*)
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: for every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
“Seek and ye shall find”
(The Saviour of the World, Vol II Book III Poem LIV)
“Who wants not more than things of touch and sight,
How should he in the Father’s gifts delight?
But turns he, surfeited, from common joys
Aware of craving all his days annoys,—
He sets himself to seek what shall appease,
And, till he solve life’s riddle, finds no ease:
Lo, this man, seeking, shall to God be led,
And find in Him wherewith his soul is fed.”
